The indigenous People of Canada are survivors. Survivors of a long history of oppression. Our cultures and languages were targeted by those who took over this land uninvited. This documentary looks for the sources of suffering within the indigenous population within the city of Winnipeg, MB, Canada.

Our stories are about a long battle for the right to simply exist and about a machinery that was designed to erase us from planet earth.

Many generations have suffered this cultural genocide enforced by the Canadian government.

What we see today is the aftermath of this history of colonization and the first steps to pick up the pieces and heal. There is a long journey ahead. We are all on that journey.

We're fighting for our lives

Indigenous Peoples are putting their bodies on the line and it's our responsibility to make sure you know why. That takes time, expertise and resources - and we're up against a constant tide of misinformation and distorted coverage. By supporting IC you're empowering the kind of journalism we need, at the moment we need it most.
