Homeless

By Jay Taber

In the Live From Palestine diaries, journalist Moe Ali Nayel interviews a Palestinian refugee in Beirut who’s now been homeless for sixty-six years. Since the European Jews invaded in 1948, the indigenous Palestinians — forced to leave their villages at gunpoint by the Haganah — have endured repeated displacement in Israel, Syria and Lebanon. Living in squalor while dreaming of returning to their homeland, Palestinian refugees, says Nayel, are exhausted.
