#DoSomeGood this #GivingTuesday with IC Magazine!

By IC Magazine

Two weeks ago, more than 15,000 scientists issued a dire warning that time is running out for humanity. “Soon it will be too late to shift course away from our failing trajectory,” the scientists cautioned. “Humanity has failed” to sufficiently resolve the environmental challenges that have brought us to the edge of the precipice.

But all is not lost. The alliance of scientists were hopeful that we can still pull ourselves back from the edge by decreasing our negative impact on the planet and by working together. “We must recognize, in our day-to-day lives and in our governing institutions, that Earth with all its life is our only home,” the scientists noted.

We can also find hope in resistance. Following the wave of international support for Standing Rock, the world now understands the role that Indigenous land rights plays in combating climate change, protecting our dwindling water resources and preserving biodiversity for future generations.

No matter how things play out in the years ahead, the world’s Indigenous Peoples will continue their work as stewards and defenders.

That is why we are asking for your support this #GivingTuesday and beyond!

As the world’s foremost international Indigenous rights newsroom, we go to extraordinary lengths to cover Indigenous Peoples defending nature.
