While West Papuans are fighting for their lives against Indonesian death squads funded by Nobel Peace Prize recipient Barack Obama, we at IC Magazine know the Indigenous stories that need to be told are sometimes outside our readers’ comfort zone. But when these stories aren’t told, neoliberal wars against Indigenous peoples can proceed with impunity. Stories alone cannot stop globalized aggression against Fourth World nations, but they are an essential component to building a human rights movement that includes Indigenous values.

At IC Magazine, we have tried our best to give voice to these stories, so that no one has to feel alone in this life-and-death struggle. Solely dependent on our readers to support our volunteer efforts, we sometimes have to forgo covering stories in the depth we’d like to, but at least we’re trying.

As we attempt to increase the depth of our coverage of the Indigenous Peoples Movement, we need to expand the support of our readers. Will you help us?

We're fighting for our lives

Indigenous Peoples are putting their bodies on the line and it's our responsibility to make sure you know why. That takes time, expertise and resources - and we're up against a constant tide of misinformation and distorted coverage. By supporting IC you're empowering the kind of journalism we need, at the moment we need it most.
