George Seldes, the iconic American investigative journalist — honored in the Academy Award nominated documentary film Tell the Truth and Run — spent his life taking on anti-democratic media, corporations and governments. Faced with the choice between a career and his conscience, Seldes chose the latter.

At IC Magazine, we face the same choice. With ongoing reader support, we can continue to tell the truth.

As IC grows and becomes a non-profit publication in 2014, we will exercise the same scrupulous standards we always have. While we don’t rule out accepting help from foundations in order to supplement reader support, we’ll be very selective about whom we are willing to work with.

Rest assured that won’t include foundations opposed to the Indigenous Peoples Movement–like Clinton, Ford, Rockefeller, Soros, Tides, Bill and Melinda Gates.

We're fighting for our lives

Indigenous Peoples are putting their bodies on the line and it's our responsibility to make sure you know why. That takes time, expertise and resources - and we're up against a constant tide of misinformation and distorted coverage. By supporting IC you're empowering the kind of journalism we need, at the moment we need it most.
