In this short film by Joey Podlubny you will meet the Northern Trappers Alliance, a small group of Dene trappers who last month created a blockade–near La Loche, Saskatchewan–in order to stop ongoing oilsands and uranium industry activity in the area.

Despite being forced to move to the side of the road by the RCMP, the Dene trappers say they are not going anywhere and that they are planning to block the road again.

We're fighting for our lives

Indigenous Peoples are putting their bodies on the line and it's our responsibility to make sure you know why. That takes time, expertise and resources - and we're up against a constant tide of misinformation and distorted coverage. By supporting IC you're empowering the kind of journalism we need, at the moment we need it most.
