On World Water Day We Say #KeepItIntTheGround !

Yesterday, on the eve of #‎WorldWaterDay we spent time in the beautiful and fragile community of Pointe Aux Chenes, situated in Houma territory, where land is disappearing faster than anywhere on Earth. IEN rep Monique Verdin took us through the bayous and shared with us her stories and why she is fighting to protect her home. Tomorrow, March 23rd, the Bureau of Land Management will be conducting a federal land lease auction of over 15 million acres for fossil fuel development in the Gulf of Mexico, the auction will take place at the Superdome Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana. We are rising up in solidarity with the Houma and the NOLA community and will be holding a non-violent direct action at this auction to tell BLM and the fossil fuel industry to #‎KeepItInTheGround and #‎NoNewLeases ! #‎WaterIsSacred #‎WaterIsLife
