Introduction

Speaking the Uto-Aztecan language, the Comanche people historically lived in present-day Eastern New Mexico, Southern Colorado, Southern Kansas, all of Oklahoma, and most of Northern and Southern Texas.

There are approximately 10,000 Comanche alive today, almost half of whom live in the state of Oklahoma
