This is Em from Taiwan, I am recently working on a campaign to help out the leprosy patients in Taiwan.
As such a subject that never gets anybody’s attention. I am asking the anarchist/activist/punks worldwide to help!! (The reason i am passing this here is becuase the government and the media here in taiwan is trying to shut us down, this is emergent, so please, we all really appreciated for any help!)

The following is some recent news, background, and a video about the 1984 Union Carbide disaster in Bhopal, India which killed over 20,000 people and left over 100,000 severely disabled.

On December 3rd, 1984, thousands of people in Bhopal, India, were gassed to death after a catastrophic chemical leak at a Union Carbide pesticide plant. More than 150,000 people (1) were left severely disabled - of whom 22,000 (2) have since died of their injuries - in a disaster now widely acknowledged as the world’s worst-ever industrial disaster.

Mohawks block off disputed quarry

Clad in camouflaged apparel and hauling camping gear, more than 125 members of the mohawks of the Bay of Quinte community seized control of a gravel quarry on a disputed tract of land located along the northeastern outskirts of Deseronto last night.
Shortly before 5 p.m., the winding access road leading to the Thurlow Aggregates gravel pit off of Deseronto Road was blocked off by mohawk protesters in several vehicles, including two school buses and an number of all-terrain vehicles.

The Kwakiutl First Nation has called for a demonstration at the Legislature on Monday at 11 am to protest the Province’s decision to transfer land in its territory without consultation. The transfer is part of a deal between Western Forest Products and the Province to take private land out of Tree Farm Licenses on northern Vancouver Island. The Kwakiutl Band Council states that it was informed about the application, but it was not consulted, and it is still waiting for official notice of the decision that was made January 31. Local residents return to their homes having reached an agreement over oil waste after a 15-day protest.
Protesters from the Achuar Indian communities in the northern Peru forest have won an agreement for an Argentine oil drilling firm to stop dumping toxic waste into the rainforest. The Native Federation of the Corrientes River brought jungle operations of Pluspetrol Norte to a standstill, demanding a clean-up of the harmful waste produced by 30 years of drilling in the area.
