Leaders of the Community of South American Nations will meet later this year in Bolivia to assess the continental integration process and to finalise positions for their joint meeting with African leaders in Nigeria at year-end. The Government of Bolivia is also planning to convene a social summit to coincide with the meeting of the South American presidents. This forum is expected to focus heavily on the fight against poverty and social inequalities in the region.

Jaipur, India: Over a thousand people marched and rallied in the north Indian state of Rajasthan to demand the shut down of Coca-Cola and Pepsico bottling plants in the state.
Accusing the Coca-Cola bottling plant in Kala Dera of creating severe water shortages affecting over fifty villages and producing harmful products, protesters marched towards the Coca-Cola bottling plant in Kala Dera, about 40 kilometers from Jaipur.

CUSCO, Peru - In a historic effort to unite the Andean peoples, representatives from indigenous organizations in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Guatemala met in Cusco July 15 - 17 in the first Congress of the Andean Coordinator of Indigenous Organizations.
The meeting brought together 500 delegates from the Quechua, Kichwa, Aymara, Mapuche and other nations. It was organized by five different indigenous organizations: CONACAMI of Peru, CONAMAQ of Bolivia, ECUARUNARI of Ecuador, ONIC of Colombia and CITEM of the Mapuche Nation of Chile.
