People always want to self-determine themselves; as individuals, within cities, countries or continents. But there are STILL people who don't want the first group to self-determine. If two humans can live together in peace, then even nations can do so. So there would be no need to determine this and that... But since some people are more selfish than others, ones want to take over this and that. Land... usually. This is why some nations/cultures are facing disappearing nowadays. It was the same 100 or 1000 years ago; but there was no internet, no TV and no "information highway"... Sad :( . Basically self-determination offers at least two points of view. People always want to self-determine themselves; as individuals, within cities, countries or continents.
