This humble and inspiring short film was created to help raise awareness among Canadians about the human rights abuses faced by West Papuan people.

The film, which uses shadow puppets to deliver a simple message of hope and solidarity, was commissioned by Jeremy Bally to accompany his cross-Canada bike tour that aims to shed light on the West Papuan struggle for independence from the oppression of the Indonesian government.

Puppetry and Design: Janet Walker, Chloe Ziner and Jessica Gabriel of Mind of a Snail Puppet Company
Music: George Telek, West Papua

We're fighting for our lives

Indigenous Peoples are putting their bodies on the line and it's our responsibility to make sure you know why. That takes time, expertise and resources - and we're up against a constant tide of misinformation and distorted coverage. By supporting IC you're empowering the kind of journalism we need, at the moment we need it most.
