There were/are a few solidarity strikes I thought I'd note...

On July 5, Mexican mine workers went on a one-day strike. At least 5 mines were halted for the day.

Miners in Chile also went on strike on July 10, forcing Codelco to halt operations in its El Teniente mine, the world's largest underground copper mine.

Miners in Bolivia also went on strike, halting Bolivia's largest tin mine.

Aswell, not so much related to the these strikes but worth mentioning no less -- some 260,000 metal workers went on strike in South Africa on Wednesday, which has crippled the metal industry. An agreement in principle was quickly drawn up to give in to the demands of the workers, and the are expected to return to work on Monday.

In the last week, there have also been strikes in Zambia, America, New Zealand, Canada
