Well, there's basically two separate groups of Wai Wai (which means "Tapioca people")  the ones in Guyana, and the other in Northern Brazil (near the Venezuelan Border). They used to live together (in the Brazil area) but they migrated to Guyana in the early nineteenth century  
and intermixed with several other communities. They stayed there till about the 1970's, at which time everyone returned to Brazil -- except those mentioned in the above article.
