This article sounds emotional and from somebody who does not really know the complex situation in Colombia.

That may be true James, but it really doesn't discount the serious nature of what he is talking about - the basic needs and lives of people, and how the government is choosing to impact them, without their consent.

Personally, I'm not too informed about Colombia or the role of coco there -- but whatever it my be, it cannot excuse nor justify legislated theft, and wide-spread abuse and displacement.

Respectfully,
Ahni

This article sounds emotional and from somebody who does not really know the complex situation in Colombia.

Less worries about the land and Colombia are trying really hard to sort out the security issues. A good starting point would be if the rest of the world weren't so dependent on the coco which is one of the roots which initiates so much of the pain which goes on in Colombia. Then there would be better security, more tourism, more investment, and more jobs, less poverty etc.

I hope you get the macro-economic drift and try at least to see the bigger picture
